        Katniss and the other surviving tributes have escaped the Hunger Games and are now getting ready to fight against President Snow and the Capitol at district 13.  Peeta has been captured and brain-washed by the Capitol and thinks Katniss is the real enemy.  District 12 has been destroyed.  People are dying and risking their lives for Katniss, the Mockingjay.  At what risk will Katniss stop President Snow?

         In Suzanne Collin's Catching Fire, Katniss is closer to death than ever before.  Peeta and her are now the cause of what may be the start of a rebellion against the capitol.  Katniss now has to go back into the arena for the Quarter Quell, but this time with other former winners from each district.  This time her only goal is to make sure Peeta gets out of the arena safely.  How will Katniss be able to survive the impossible Hunger Games that the capital made to kill Katniss?   

Computer Lab

Today in computer lab, we looked at jobs that fit us and our needs.  In the first website we chose what kind of living we would want.  Then we chose what kind of job we wanted.  Since my annual salary  was 120,000 my options were varied.  The second website was way different.  We had to answered 180 questions!  This website recommended way different jobs.  Thanks to today's computer lab, picking a job will be easier.  

Science Lab

       Today in science lab we saved and killed bears.  At the beginning we started with ten bears and two pollutants.  After each round we added one more pollutant.  I learned that pollutants have a bigger impact on the environment.

Today in science lab we learned how much petroleum products are in our life.  First, we read about the dangers of petroleum products.  Then, we looked at picture and circled all the petroleum products we found.  I found only two things that were not petroleum products.  Next, we wrote a list of how many petroleum products we used in one day.  Last, we wrote 5 things on how we will change.  I learned that petroleum products can be bad and good.

Today in computer lab I learned new skills in science and language arts by going to Bitesize again.  One of science skill that I learned was about friction.  In this activity I had to choose the right path to go faster than the other biker.  After I completed this activity I got to print out a certificate.A language arts skill that I reviewed was describing a poem.  Another language arts skill I learned was about arguments.  This was a very fun computer lab.

Today in computer lab we used Bitesize Math to help us with geometry.  In the first game that I played, I got to review 2-d figures by finding a special shaped bottle.  The second game helped me relearn the 3-d figures and Nets by saving the world from robots.  In third and last game i got to play, I again saved the world from robots by reviewing angles.  What we did in computer lab today will surely help us with the big CST test in two weeks.

            Today in computer lab we learned about math skills by doing fun activities.  First, we learned about frequency diagrams by helping people with a plague.  Secondly, we reviewed mean, median, mode, and range by weighing little robots.  Thirdly, we learned probability, which could help you find the chances of someone winning $1,000,000.  Learning about all of these things and how it could help you in life was very interesting.

          Today in computer lab we played a game that is based on world hunger.  The objective was to get food to the village.  There was six activities or objectives.  The one objective or activity that I kept on playing again and again for along time was when we had to drop the food in the village.  It was so cool how we got to do almost the same things that people that work with world hunger do but on a computer.

Lewis, tells about four children, Peter,Susan, Edmund, and Lucy, who move in with a professor.  While at the house, the children find a secret wardrobe that leads to an enchanted world called Narnia.  While at Narnia, the children find themselves in the middle of a battle between Aslan(a good lion) and Jadis(Evil Queen) that will decide the fate of Narnia.

Today in computer lab we reviewed the math that we learned this year.  We got to do some activities and tests on algebra, area basics, 3-d figures, and so on.  After that we got to play fun games.  The one game that I played the most on was "Save Our Dumb Planet" which was very hard.  We also learned about a tiny computer that is $35.  I wonder what we will do next week.

        Today in computer lab we learned more about Khan Academy and the founder of Khan Academy, Salman Khan.  We reviewed geometry figures and learned about things .  I got a glimpse at what we will be learning in high school and college.  There was also M.I.T. websites that were free.  These websites will help in the present and in the future.

  In "The Hunger Games," Katniss Everdeen takes her younger sisters place in the Hunger Games.  During the Hunger Games, boys and girls are chosen to represent their district by fighting the other to the death. There are twelve districts.  Katniss and Peeta are chosen to represent district 12.  Katniss will never forget what Peeta did to her family.  Peeta saved Katniss from starvation.  Ever sense then, Katniss has always had hope.  Katniss fights for her life and her family.
